Jon Brady

Director Of Bands – Dutch Fork High School

Mr. Brady is a graduate of Winthrop University where he received, with honors, a

Bachelor of Music Education and a Master of Music in Tuba Performance. Mr. Brady

has also completed post graduate course work at the University of South Carolina. His

private instructors have included Dr. Martin Hughes, Dr. Donald Morris, and Dr. Ron

Davis.

 

Mr. Brady has previously served as the Director of Bands at Buford High School in

Lancaster, Battery Creek High School in Beaufort, Batesburg-Leesville High School in

Batesburg, and most recently at Swansea High School in Swansea, South Carolina.

Mr. Brady has also served as consultant and instructor at numerous award winning band

programs throughout South Carolina.

 

His concert bands have received consistent superior ratings at both state and national

concert festivals. His marching bands have finished in the top 10 of their respective class

for the past 5 years with top 5 finishes 4 of those five years and have received superior

ratings at both the South Carolina Marching Band Championships and Bands of America

regional competitions.

 

Mr. Brady is an active performer and private instructor of tuba. He has been a member of

many professional ensembles such as the Savannah River Winds, Charlotte Philharmonic

Orchestra, Charlotte Repertory Orchestra, Carolina Wind Ensemble, Winthrop Faculty

Brass Quintet, Beaufort Chamber Orchestra, and the Beaufort Brass Quartet. His

professional affiliations include the South Carolina Band Directors Association, Music

Educators National Conference, Pi Kappa Lambda honorary music society, Kappa Delta

Pi honorary education society, Phi Kappa Phi honorary education society, and Omicron

Delta Kappa honorary leadership society. He is also an avid fisherman and enjoys

spending time with his wife, Cindy, and their two miniature dachshunds Ted and Henry.
