Acoustic Guitars – Brands

Modern steel-stringed acoustic guitars that we’re all familiar with have been manufactured in their present form since the 1840s. They are made from a wide variety of different timbers, each combination producing a unique sounding instrument. They can have a flat or arched top and some manufacturers use a molded and shaped back.

They have a reinforced neck, solidly attached to the guitar body with a dovetail joint and often incorporate an adjustable torsion bar. Internal cross-bracing was also developed around the same time by German-American luthiers, the most well known being C. F.

Martin. All of these features give modern acoustic guitars their strength, robustness and character, ensuring they give a lifetime of playing enjoyment if carefully looked after.

On this website, you’ll find information on many common and popular acoustic guitar brands. As time goes by we’ll attempt to expand the list to include some lesser known brands and even exclusive boutique brands that are a little more obscure and that you may not have heard of before.

So how do you go about finding the right acoustic guitar that suits your playing ability, music style interests and your budget? That’s not an easy question to answer and if you asked a hundred guitarists you’d probably receive a hundred different answers! Most people, when they begin to look, usually start with acoustic guitar brands that they are familiar with: Fender; Gibson; Gretsch;

Martin; Taylor; Ibanez, to name a few. These are all great brands to begin your search efforts with. These manufacturers didn’t get their recognition and familiarity in the market by accident – they have all produced high-quality instruments for many years, and marketed them very well.

That said, there are still many lesser known manufacturers that produce fantastic sounding instruments that are of good or even excellent build quality. And many of these acoustic guitar brands don’t require you to take out a mortgage on your house in order to own one! It’s like anything in life – you pay for quality as a general rule, so obviously the more you can allow for in the budget for your new guitar, the broader the choice of brand you’re going to have.more helpful information at http://www.musicradar.com/news/guitars/prs-reveals-se-alex-lifeson-thinline-acoustic-guitar-618078/

One of the main things to remember is to not rush into any buying decision. Take your time and obtain as much information as you can from other guitarists, online guitar reviews, manufacturers’ websites and reputable guitar dealers. This will enable you to narrow your search to maybe three or four acoustic guitar brands, then you’ll be able to look into each of those for guitars in the price range you’ve decided on. Time spent before you buy will help eliminate any regretted decisions in the future. How many times in your life have you said “I wish I’d spent the extra few dollars…”?

I hope you enjoy browsing the site and hope the information you find here is helpful in your search. It is a work in progress so don’t be discouraged if there are acoustic guitar brands you’re looking for not listed yet. They will more than likely appear in the not too distant future.
